how do you guess the chords to learn a piano song?

I have the little notes figured out with my right hand but I wanna learn how to play it with chords. Are the notes and chords in any way associated? Like if I know the note is gonna be C is there any way to tell what the chord will be?

You could start off by playing the chord first then matching the right hand melody to it. for example, try the chord of C, hum the melody and then try a few other chords to see if they are right. Hope that helps.
