What does the number next to a chord in a guitar tab mean?
Hello, I am trying to learn how to play Daughters by John Mayer, and in the guitar tab right next to the chords it has a number. It looks like this
Bm7/11, Em7/9, etc..
I was just curious to what that meant because it is preventing me from making any progress in the song. I think it is how many times you play that chord, but I’m not really sure >_<

It’s got nothing to do with the number of times you play the chord.

Go to my website, read my lesson on chord construction, and you’ll understand.
Are you following tablature or a chord chart. If tab, it doesn’t matter what the numbers mean just play the tab. If it’s a chord chart, find out/learn how to play those chords.
